Sketch
Each piece starts with a series of sketches to map out the framework of the embroidery.
Stitch
Then thread colors are selected and the stitching begins. Poke, pull, repeat.
Detail
Special attention is given to the finishing details: the perfect shading, a vibrant accent, an emphasized texture.
MEET JULIETTE
I started my hand embroidery business as a late night side hobby in 2021. After living in New York City and working in Retail Planning for ten years, my husband and I moved back home to Philadelphia during COVID with our new baby girl. Looking for a creative outlet, I taught myself how to hand embroidery, practicing every night after putting our daughter to bed.
Coming from a family of artists, this new hobby had reignited my own love for art that had been dormant for many years. After a few gifts for family and friends, the business grew overnight. Gusta Embroidery, named after our daughter Augusta, has given me such fulfillment and energy every day.
Gusta Embroidery became full time after the birth of our 3rd child, thanks to my amazing clients who appreciate the hand-made and one-of-a-kind as much as I do.
